1. 10.f5 A very good move, so hampering Black's game as to render the development of his pieces a matter of much difficulty.
2. 10…Qe7 Had his lordship, with the intention of breaking up the Pawns, played P. to Kt's 3rd, White, by replying with P. to Kt's 4th, would have maintained his position; neither would Kt. to K's 3rd have availed more for the second player.
3. 12.Nc3 Preparing to play the Kt. to Q's 5th, in order to cut off the adverse King's Bishop, which commands an important diagonal.
4. 16…Na5 Kt. to Kt's sq. would perhaps have been better.
5. 18…Qf8 K. to B's 2nd would have been a bad move, on account of the forcible rejoinder of P. to K's 5th, &c.
6. 19.Bc3 After this there is no hope for Black's game.
7. 23.Qb3 As this is all played blindfold, White's exactitude is most astonishing.
8. 25.Ba6 Finely played again. We give a diagram of this interesting position.
9. 26.e5 Q. to R's 7th might also have been played with much effect.
10. 27.Bxb7+ Winning in a few moves.
