The full published matrix agrees with every archived main-tournament result. The dates 1–14 August appear in OlimpBase; the contemporary BCM report confirms August without specifying those days. The individual scores retain their original unknown dates.

The second Interzonal place

FIDE’s allocation of an extra Interzonal place to Zone 10 made the three-way tie for second significant. Kan, Tan and Fuller played a double round robin in Hong Kong in May 1973. Each finished with two wins and two losses, and Tan qualified through a drawing of lots.

Lim Kok Ann’s June 1973 column dates the qualifying match and prints Tan’s win with Black against Fuller. This contemporary account takes precedence over secondary playoff records labeled August 1972. The exact days of the playoff remain unconfirmed.
