Incomplete record. This archive holds 14 of the 45 games played; 31 are missing. Fourteen of the 45 tournament games are available in the approved archives; 31 scores are missing. A separate Bellón–Parés score under the same native label is outside the documented tournament field.

Hans-Joachim Hecht finished unbeaten on 6½/9, half a point ahead of Arturo Pomar, Ulf Andersson and Miguel Quinteros.

A close contest in Olot

Ten players contested a single round robin in the sixth Olot international tournament. Hecht won four games and drew five. Pomar, Andersson and Quinteros finished half a point behind; the published Sonneborn–Berger totals placed them in that order.

Kenneth Rogoff scored 5½/9. In his contemporary account he described this as his first international-master result. Pal Benko and Antonio Medina each scored 5. Benko’s firsthand report identifies local champion and club chairman Jorge Parés as one of his opponents.

The surviving game record

The archive preserves fourteen of the 45 tournament games. Both contemporary published tables give the complete standings, which are shown alongside this incomplete score collection. Two archive headers wrongly named Natalia Parés Vives; the original reports identify Jorge Parés. Those two names are corrected while the scores and existing links remain intact.

A separate Bellón–Parés game carries the same city and year in the native archive. Bellón is absent from both full tournament tables, so that game is kept outside this tournament collection. Its precise occasion remains unconfirmed. The surviving tournament scores retain their original partial dates and unknown round tags.
