USSR vs Spain, Logrono 1991: 72 surviving games.

A Soviet team met Spain at Logroño in 1991, the last year of the USSR. Each side had six players, and 72 games survive, which fits every player meeting each opponent twice. The sources consulted don't give an official score or schedule, so the page doesn't give one either.

Two experienced national selections

The Soviet roster in the games is Vladimir Epishin, Lev Polugaevsky, Evgeny Vladimirov, Jaan Ehlvest, Josif Dorfman, and Alexey Dreev. Spain's side is Juan Manuel Bellón López, Alfonso Romero Holmes, Manuel Rivas Pastor, Orestes Rodríguez Vargas, Miguel Illescas Córdoba, and Juan Luis Fernández Aguado.

The field bridged generations. Polugaevsky and Dorfman brought decades of Soviet championship experience, while Dreev, Ehlvest, and Epishin represented a younger Soviet generation. Spain paired long-established internationals Bellón, Rivas, and Rodríguez with Miguel Illescas, who would become one of the country's leading grandmasters.

What the archive can establish

Each of the twelve players has twelve games here, 72 in all. That fits a clear format, but the only historical source found confirms just that a Spain–USSR match was played at Logroño in 1991. Without an official final table, the page doesn't present a score worked out from the games as the historical result.
