- 9…Ng6 Inauspicious. P—KB4 was clearly better.
- 12…Ke7 Quite a comical blunder that leads to an early and drastic end.
- 13.Nc4 Either a piece is won or mate in two follows, as actually occurred. See diagram.
- 13…Qa6 Giving up a piece by B—K3 was the only move to save the mate or loss of a Queen, but, of course, the game was gone.
