Android app 2.31: your library, account and alerts on your phone
The Android app now does what the website does with your collections, starred games, imports and account, shows phone alerts, and opens Classic Chess links.
Open a game's menu, or hold a game in a list, to add it to a collection or a new one, star it, write a note or mark it studied. A collection used as a study plan shows your progress and a Continue button, and Manual order lets you move games up and down. For your own imported games you can also make them public or private, or delete them.
Library, then Settings, then Account & security changes your username, email and password, turns two-step verification on or off with recovery codes, connects or disconnects Google and Lichess, and deletes your account. Before a change, the app asks you to confirm it's you with your password, and your authenticator code when two-step verification is on, or with Google or Lichess in your browser if your account has no password. One confirmation covers your changes for five minutes.
Accounts made with Google or Lichess can now sign in to the app. Choose Sign in with Google or Lichess, approve the app on classicchess.com in your browser, and return to the app. Forgot password? on the sign-in screen emails you a reset link. Personal API tokens stay on the website.
Turn on Phone alerts in Settings, then Notifications. The app checks your inbox about every 15 minutes and shows new items as phone notifications; tapping one opens its page in the app. The notification topics you choose there are the same ones the website bell uses.
The app adds the Gallery with each photo's players and credit, On this day, the Event of the Day on Home, the website's search, the endgame tablebase in the Opening Explorer, and PGN downloads of a player's or event's games, a MasterDB search and the annotated books.
Links to classicchess.com pages the app can show, such as games, players, events, the gallery and search, open straight in the app once it is installed.
