Recurring events move from Misc into 459 new series
3,071 events left Misc for their own series, so recurring events now sit with their other editions.
National championships, team leagues, congresses, memorials and opens each gained their own series, and existing series such as Hastings, Dortmund and the Chigorin Memorial gained missing editions.
Paul Morphy’s odds games and matches, 26 events in all, now form one series beside his casual and blindfold games. Other leading players’ casual, consultation and exhibition games are grouped the same way.
Events with no named tournament lineage are grouped by host city in 199 city series, from Aachen to Zürich. Misc now lists 337 one-off events, and unassigned matches remain in Matches.
