Use a security key for two-factor authentication
Register a YubiKey or another security key, keep your authenticator app, and choose either method when signing in.
Add a security key in Settings under Account & security. You can use a key on its own or keep both a key and an authenticator app registered.
Choose which method to ask for first, or switch at sign-in without removing either one. Recovery codes remain available if you lose access to a method.
