1. 3…dxe4 A deviation from the usual line of play, which is not to be recommended.
2. 10…f5 Weakening the King's Pawn. Better would be P to Q Kt 3, to be followed by B to Kt 2.
3. 16.c4 The attack introduced by this and the following move proves very strong. The whole game is very well played by Mr. Blackburne.
4. 18…Ng6 This move increases the difficulties of Black, but whatever he plays he has a cramped game.
5. 20…exd5 Black's game is hopeless. If Q Kt to K 2, then 21. P x P, B x P; 22. R x B, and White wins,
