Max Euwe defeated Salo Landau 4½–1½ in a six-game Amsterdam match. After a draw and a loss, Euwe swept the last four games.
Four wins after the interval
The first three games were played on 13, 14 and 16 June. Landau led after the second game, but Euwe leveled the match in round three before a nine-day interval.
Play resumed on 25 June. Euwe won on three consecutive days to complete a four-game winning run and take the match by three points.
