Incomplete record·5 of 91 games archived

Incomplete record. This archive holds 5 of the 91 games played; 86 are missing. Five of the 91 games inferred from the original ordinary-result matrix have approved archive scores; the other 86 scores are unavailable here.

Albert Becker and Erich Eliskases shared first place with 11 points from thirteen games. Hans Müller finished third on 10, followed by Theodoor de Jong on 8.

Masters and regional players

The Oberösterreichischer Schachverband organized a fourteen-player single round robin, bringing established masters together with regional players. The contemporary report describes a three-way race between Becker, Eliskases and Müller that lasted until the final round.

Becker defeated Razinger in the last round, while Eliskases beat Müller with a mating attack. Becker and Eliskases therefore finished level at the top. Gruber, Doesburgh and Schenk shared 7½ points behind de Jong.

The surviving record

The original Wiener Schach-Zeitung table supplies all fourteen totals and 91 ordinary reciprocal results. That full matrix supports the inference that 91 games were played; no concrete default or withdrawal is identified in the inspected report, which does not state a separate physical-game census.

Five scores are available in the approved archives, leaving 86 unavailable here. Three of those missing scores were published in full in the contemporary magazine, but no corresponding positive score was found in either approved archive. Becker–de Jong also appears in the original Chess Review and agrees with all 83 plies of the preserved score.

All native moves, dates, rounds, results and names are retained. The two approved archives disagree over Schenk’s forename; the original report identifies only Schenk of Prague, so no forename correction is asserted. Shared point totals use shared places.
