A memorial in the spa park

Andrzej Filipowicz’s printed retrospective describes play on a glass veranda of the main sanatorium, with demonstration boards in the park. Jerzy Arłamowski helped initiate the tournament. This was the first edition of the recurring memorial honoring Akiba Rubinstein.

Played results and the surviving scores

Of 120 scored pairings, 118 were played. Bogdan Śliwa forfeited his last two pairings, to Matulović and Minić; those two defaults are not missing games. The archive preserves 115 played scores. Three other played results have no moves in either approved source. Published points include the two default awards. Matulović and Minić each played 14 games, Śliwa 13, and the other players 15; the table’s played and W-L-D columns count actual play.

The native Padevsky–Ujtelky score carries the wrong winner. Its result is corrected to Padevsky’s win using the full published matrices and independent printed final totals; its moves are preserved. Exact day ranges differ between historical references, so the event is dated here to August 1963.
