Incomplete record. This archive holds 8 of the 15 games played; 7 are missing. Eight of the fifteen games inferred from the original ordinary-result matrix have approved archive scores; seven scores are unavailable here.
Erich Eliskases won the six-player Easter tournament with four wins and one draw. Oskar Naegeli finished second on 3½/5, followed by Hans Johner on 3.
Preparation in Zürich
The Schachgesellschaft Zürich invited Eliskases to play alongside five Swiss masters in a single round robin. Its contemporary report describes the event as preparation for the national tournament in Lucerne that June.
The original report emphasizes Eliskases’s hard-fought win over Naegeli. Gygli held the winner to his only draw; Gygli and Walter Henneberger shared fourth with 1½ points, ahead of Staehelin on 1.
The surviving record
The original Wiener Schach-Zeitung table supplies all fifteen ordinary reciprocal results and six totals. That complete table supports the inference that fifteen games were played; no concrete default or withdrawal is identified in the inspected report, which gives no separate physical-game census.
Eight scores survive in the checked approved archives. The other seven pairings have empty archive records but no playable score here. All native moves, dates, rounds, results and names are retained. A later club history’s complete Hans Johner–Staehelin score agrees with all 79 plies of the preserved game.
