A separate five-game series
Marshall and Duras had met earlier in the Progressive Chess Club quadrangular, but contemporary reporting announced this later Manhattan Chess Club series as a distinct five-game match.
Marshall won the first three games, drew the fourth, and Duras replied in the final game.
