Notes by C. von Bardeleben.
- 11.Bh4 I prefer 11. B to B 4.
- 12.Re1 A weak move. White should have played 12. Q to K 2, and if Black answers B to Kt 5; 13. Q R to Q sq; by this line of play White would prepare the advance of the King's Pawn better than by 12. R to K sq.
- 13.e5 This proves to be disadvantageous.
- 17.Bxf6 If 17. Kt to Q 5, then Castles Q R; 18. Kt x Kt, ch, K to Kt sq, and Black has the better game.
- 20…Nb6 An excellent move, which practically decides the game in Black's favour. (See diagram.)
