A joint victory
Granda Zúñiga reached 7½ with six wins, two losses, and three draws. Timman matched him with five wins, one loss, and five draws. Judit Polgár finished half a point behind on 7.
The published table identifies both leaders on 7½. The archive therefore gives them joint rank 1 instead of using their unequal win totals as an official tie-break.
A decisive event
The 12-player single round robin completed all 66 pairings. It produced 41 decisive games and 25 draws, with more than three games in five ending in a win.
Every participant completed 11 games, and the archived point totals agree with the historical crosstable.
