1. 4…Bd7 This move seems futile, as the doubling of Pawns on the Bishop's file is not dangerous for Black. The correct move is 4.... Kt to B 3, and after 5. P to Q 4, Kt to Q 2 (Tchigorin's defence).
2. 5.d3 The natural continuation here would be Castling, in conjunction with P to Q 4.
3. 8…a6 Here Black might advantageously play Kt to Kt 5, in order to exchange the Knight for the Bishop at K 3.
4. 19…O-O A very dangerous Castling position; Black ought to have made earlier preparation to move P to B 4, in order to ease his game, which is extremely hampered at present.
5. 26…Bc8 Clearly, if Kt x Kt, then 27. P x P, ch, and Black loses the Bishop at Q 2.
6. 30.Qe2 If 30. Kt x P, ch, then Q x Kt.
7. 35…Bb7 The Bishop is in sad straits.
8. 36…Rg7 After Q to K Kt 2, would follow 37. Kt x R, Q x Q; 38. Kt to B 7, ch, and 39. Kt x Q.
