Copenhagen Chess Club Centenary 1965
The Copenhagen Chess Club's centenary tournament ended with Svetozar Gligorić, Alexey Suetin and Mark Taimanov sharing first on 11/15. Bent Larsen finished just half a point behind them.
A three-way first place
Gligorić, Suetin, and Taimanov reached the same total with identical records of eight wins, six draws, and one loss. The complete crosstable therefore records a genuine shared first rather than a tie created by missing games.
Larsen stays within reach
Larsen scored 10½, only half a point short of the winning trio, and Vlastimil Hort followed on 10. Andreas Dückstein's 9 placed him sixth in the sixteen-player field.
The centenary in full
Danbase dates the tournament from 3 to 22 October 1965 and preserves all 120 games. Complete round tags cover the fifteen-round schedule.
